Flaunt It! That’s what the guys at Mozilla are saying. Flaunt It! And I am :D With over 8.3 million downloads in 24 hours, a new world record for the most downloaded software in a single day. Then again, I think the folks at Mozilla knew that it was a sure win. With all the break-neck die hard fox fans out there, there was no way the new record would not have been made. Although the records are taking a week to verify and validate it -we know its for sure!!! And thus we can Flaunt It!

Flaunt What? How about this bright glossy certificate you can see below? Or about this awesome Olympian cute fire fox?

Flaunt It! if you are one of the 8.3 million foxfans – if not, just dig it here.

Empty Room /Queensryche [ Badges ]

Posted in General with tags , on June 19, 2008 by Neerod

I have decided to organize things a bit here in the blog before things go out of hand. So, you will find these small badges in any post indicating which category the post belongs to, so that you can zoom in to the post of your choice. This will be a visual clue -i.e, the badge on the left hand side with Dark Clouds with angry thunderbolts represents the Blog itself -the General category.

Badges

Please note that the Icons placed within the red-circle-with-vicious-cloud and lightening are noy my artwork. I scoured the net and found them. Most, if not all, are free for non-commercial use. If not, let me know and I will pull it down.

Empty room is one of my favorite tracks, with its awesome guitar work -well, I guess my room and blog would be best organized if it was empty…but its not, so have to make do with what I have.

Computerized God /Black Sabbath [ Firefox 3 Download Day ]

DCT TechFirefox (read: the best web browser in the world) has just released their third version for free today. For the uninitiated, this means more flexibility, speed and power fulfilling all your web browsing needs. Its legions of extensions can enrich your browsing experience to pure pleasure. With firefox beating the rest of the browser competitors in all catagories (speed, performance, resource utilization, customization…) the web browser wars are nearly over. On this note, Opera has released its 9.50 version, which is a decent upgrade giving Internet Explorer no chance in this competition whatsoever.

The firefox team at Mozilla, encouraged by the support of the community (read: the whole wide world), has decided to take a stab at setting a world record of most downloaded in a day. Commendable and feasible I would say, as more thousands upon thousands have already pledged to download it today . Current download figure is 2,928,382 (June 17, 3:31 GMT). To know more about the event (Hurry, time is running out ) go here.

I believe that actions speak louder than words, why don’t you go ahead and download a copy yourself? You can get it here and at least change your whole perception of web browsing and be a part of history.

In a different tune, have you noticed how computer centric we have become? It seems Black Sabbath’s Computerized God is coming to town -sooner or later.

DCT PhotoBdgI have been watching the sky. More specifically -clouds. No, I have not turned into a soothsayer, not yet. And yes, I am aware of the fact that I was not the only one watching -but I was the only one with camera taking snaps of the beautiful tapestry drawn up above.

CloudNumber9

The snaps were taken with my trusted camera phone showcasing what high quality gadgets you can buy these days. But this post is not about gadgets, I promise. For now, enjoy these thumbnail assortment and let me know if you can spot that elusive cloud number nine.

Heroes /Megadeth [ The Best Game Ever ]

DCT GameBdgHeroes of Might and Magic series is the best game ever. period. Nothing more to say. I have spent countless ages enchanted in the dpeth of the beautiful game and I played all its iterations, from Kings Bounty to the Tribes of the East. It is linked up deep within my soul.Heroes V

To think of it, when I first bought Heroes of Might and Magic III: Restoration of Erathia and fired it up in my pc -I was not impressed. What is this carotgrapher type of game?! So I uninstalled it and left the disk to rot in a corner of my room. After six months, when there was no new games to play, I decided to give it another spin…and then I was mesmerized. The enchantment was complete with breathtaking graphics, the maps were dazzling and full of adventure and legendary creatures -and the battles were spectacular to say the least. The game never left the confines of my hard disk and I began my quest of ogling up any Heroes title I could find.

Now in the end of its fifth iteration, at the hand of a new producer and developer (Ubisoft and Nival Interactive), I am sure my beloved series future is bright indeed. The HOMM V set up a high bar of Heroes V toteturn-base strategy games which other venerable titles like Age of Wonders, Disciples and Warlords (is it still alive?) will be hard pressed to meet. The interactivity with the gameworld and the players have increased due to fluid 3d animations and gorgeous visual effects. The gameplay remains the same at core with innovations that were required to increase the depth of the game to even a greater degree. I would put it up nearly on par with HOMM III (the best of the series, imho). The latest expansion pack Tribes of the East (HOMM V: ToTE) is the best version of the fifth installment. With alternative unit upgrades, it has changed the strategic layer of the game. One gripe I have is that the alternative levels renders some units totally useless.

I would and do recommend Heroes of might and Magic to any person looking for a fun, indepth, engrossing strategy game with roleplaying elements. It simply cannot get any better than this. However, I do hope they beat event his standard in Heroes of Might and Magic VI. Long live Heroes. As tuned in by Megadeth -Heroes never die -
